Best Western Plus College Park Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Best Western Plus College Park Hotel, you immediately get that feeling of “this is way nicer than I expected.” I mean, it’s a three-star property on Baltimore Avenue, but honestly — they’ve done something right here. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without trying too hard, and the staff actually seems happy to see you. You know what really caught my attention? The place just feels well-maintained, like someone actually cares about the details.
Location That Actually Works
Here’s the thing about College Park — you’re basically in the sweet spot between Washington D.C. and all the university action. The hotel sits right on Baltimore Avenue, which might sound busy (and it sort of is), but you’re literally minutes from the University of Maryland campus. I’ve stayed here a few times, and couples seem to really get it — there’s something about being close enough to everything without being in the thick of tourist chaos. The Metro’s not far either, so getting into D.C. is actually pretty straightforward.
The Room Experience
The room I had was honestly better than some four-star places I’ve been to recently. Clean lines, comfortable bed, and — this matters more than you’d think — really good water pressure in the shower. The air conditioning works properly (not always a given), and there’s enough space to actually unpack if you’re staying more than a night. What I appreciated most was the attention to little things: decent lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, and blackout curtains that actually block light.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast buffet is where this place really shines for the price point. I’m talking fresh fruit, decent coffee, and hot options that don’t taste like they’ve been sitting under heat lamps all morning. It’s not fancy, but it’s substantial enough that you can skip lunch if you’re exploring the area. And here’s something that’ll save you money — the parking is free and private. Trust me, if you’ve ever tried to park near a university or paid D.C. parking rates, you’ll appreciate this more than you think.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps bringing me back (and apparently a lot of other people, based on the ratings) is that this hotel just works without any drama. The location gets consistently high marks because you’re genuinely well-positioned for both university visits and D.C. exploration. The staff knows the area and can actually give you useful directions. It’s one of those places where you check in, settle in easily, and focus on whatever brought you to College Park in the first place — whether that’s a campus visit, business, or using it as a base for the greater Washington area.

Reviews of Best Western Plus College Park Hotel
Machteld from Netherlands (9/10)
It was reasonably priced for a great location. We were in a box truck and there was ample parking which is great in an urban setting. Very nice area with lots of breakfast places and dinner places.

Rerori from Austria (8/10)
The hotel is good for business trips, or for short visits.
C from Canada (8/10)
I didn't try the breakfast. We arrived early in the morning the first night and had a busy day the following which led to sleeping in both mornings so we missed breakfast. The location was near the highway and fairly close to the metro station allowing us to walk to the station and visit Washington sites while leaving via Interstate for home.
Tammy from Canada (8/10)
