Here’s the thing about Arlington — Crystal City specifically — it’s one of those areas that locals know is perfectly positioned for everything. You’re literally minutes from the airport (I mean, it’s in the name), but you’re also right on the Metro’s Blue and Yellow lines. The Pentagon City mall is a quick ride away, and downtown DC is maybe 15 minutes by train. I’ve stayed here multiple times when flying out early because you can actually walk to the airport if you want — though the free shuttle is much more civilized. The restaurant scene in Crystal City has really improved over the years too, with some solid options within walking distance.

Every room here is actually a suite, which is pretty great when you consider the price point. You get a separate living area with a pull-out sofa, which comes in handy if you’re traveling with family or just want space to spread out. The beds are genuinely comfortable — I’m talking about the kind of sleep where you wake up confused about what time zone you’re in. There’s a wet bar area and a mini-fridge, plus a microwave that’s actually useful. The bathrooms are nothing fancy, but they’re well-maintained and the water pressure is solid.

The complimentary breakfast here is one of those things that keeps me coming back. It’s a proper buffet with made-to-order omelets, not just pastries and cereal.   Breakfast was awesome! Nice to have happy hour food. We had my mom, me and 2 sisters in the 2 full beds and brother in the hide-a-bed. Liked the closeness to Reagan airport. Flew in early on Thursday and they let us enjoy their continental breakfast.

  I have stayed in DC before, closer to the National mall and the Capitol, and while this location was a little further away, I much prefer it based on the variety of restaurants and shops nearby, the short walk to the metro ( which we took from Pentagon City mall location so even more shops and food offerings ) The fact that there are numerous residential buildings surrounding the area also means lots of green space, people out at the dog parks , walking their dogs, at the park with kids, grocery stores etc. There was even a community day with a free outdoor movie Friday night of the Little Mermaid. We always felt safe walking in this area
