Fairfield Inn & Suites-Washington DC Overview
First Impressions
The Fairfield Inn & Suites-Washington DC sits on New York Avenue in Northeast Washington, and honestly, it’s one of those three-star hotels that just gets the basics really right. I mean, you’re not walking into marble lobbies or anything fancy, but there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on what actually matters — like getting a good night’s sleep and not worrying about where to park your car. The building itself is pretty standard Marriott fare, but the staff seemed genuinely helpful when I checked in, which you don’t always get at chain hotels.
Location & Getting Around
You know what’s interesting about this spot? It’s in Northeast DC, which some people might hesitate about, but it’s actually pretty solid. The area has been changing a lot over the past few years, and you’re close enough to Union Station that getting downtown is no big deal. Couples seem to really like the location — I can see why, since you’re away from the tourist chaos but still connected to everything. There’s parking right at the hotel too, which honestly might be worth the stay alone if you’ve ever tried to find a spot near the National Mall.
The Room Experience
Here’s where this place really shines — the beds are genuinely comfortable. I was skeptical at first because every hotel claims great beds, but I actually slept really well here. The room itself is clean and functional, with that typical Fairfield layout that maximizes space without feeling cramped. The bathroom was updated and had decent water pressure, which matters more than you’d think after a long day of walking around DC. Nothing groundbreaking design-wise, but everything worked properly, and the air conditioning was quiet.
Practical Perks
The breakfast situation is pretty standard continental fare — you’re not getting anything gourmet, but there’s enough variety to get you going in the morning. What I really appreciated was how easy everything was. Check-in was quick, the elevators worked fine, and the Wi-Fi was actually fast enough to stream something if you wanted to wind down. Sometimes it’s the little things that don’t go wrong that make a hotel stay pleasant, you know? The fitness center is small but has the basics if you need to squeeze in a workout.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the most memorable hotel you’ll ever stay at, but it does exactly what it promises without any surprises. The combination of genuinely comfortable beds, reliable parking, and a location that works for both business and leisure travelers makes it a solid choice. For the price point in DC, you’re getting good value — especially when you factor in not having to pay extra for parking somewhere else. It’s the kind of place where you can focus on why you’re actually in Washington instead of dealing with hotel headaches.

Reviews of Fairfield Inn & Suites-Washington DC
Sarang from South Korea (8/10)
A comfort bad, few variations in breakfast. I liked it. Staff is generally kind. Fair price. The room was clean.
Lakia from United States (9/10)
The location is great, considering a gas stating is within walking distance, restaurants are close by, and it is right off of the highway. I live in MD and will highly consider staying here again. The rooms are spacious, all areas were clean, open and bright. A minor issue I had was that there were no linings in the trash bins in the room and you had to pay for parking. Which I found to be unreasonable considering there was another hotel within a few feet and to make a distinction, I understand having a tag but to charge for that; I found to be unreasonable. There is a hot breakfast as an option; which I found to be really good and was much space for family and solo travelers alike. The lobby atmosphere is cute and welcoming. The staff was nice. The check in / out hours were fantastic. I did not get a chance to go to the gym, as it was overnight, but I will check it out next time I stay there.
