Large studio apartment steps from the US Capitol! Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Large studio apartment steps from the US Capitol! on 7th Street Southeast, you immediately get why this place has such stellar ratings. I mean, when you can literally see the Capitol dome from the street — that’s not something you experience at your typical hotel. This three-star spot sits in one of those classic DC rowhouse buildings that actually feels like you’re living in the neighborhood rather than just passing through as a tourist.
The Space
The studio apartment itself is honestly bigger than I expected — you know how these city places can be cramped, but this one actually gives you room to spread out your stuff. The layout works well, with a proper sleeping area that doesn’t feel like you’re camping in your living room. What I really appreciated was having a full kitchen setup, which is rare to find in Washington accommodations at this price point. You can grab groceries from the Eastern Market (just a few blocks away) and actually cook instead of eating out every meal — your wallet will thank you.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about this location that the photos don’t quite capture — you’re in the sweet spot where you feel like a local but everything touristy is still walkable. The Capitol is right there (obviously), but you’re also close enough to walk to the Supreme Court and Library of Congress without dealing with the crowds around the National Mall. Plus, there’s free parking here, which honestly might be worth the stay alone if you’ve ever tried to park near Capitol Hill. The neighborhood has that residential vibe during evenings, so it’s not all tour groups and noise after dark.
Practical Perks
The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you settle in for a day or two. Little things work the way they should — the WiFi is solid (important if you’re working remotely), the room stays quiet despite being on a busy street, and the building feels secure. I noticed couples seem to particularly love this place, and I get it — there’s something romantic about having your own little DC hideaway where you can walk to dinner in Navy Yard or catch a Nationals game without the hassle of hotels downtown.
Why Guests Love It
What sets this place apart is that perfect balance of independence and location that’s hard to find in DC. You’re not dealing with hotel lobbies and checkout times, but you’re also not stuck in some suburban area wondering how to get anywhere. The recent guests who rated the location 9.7 weren’t exaggerating — when you can walk to work on the Hill, grab coffee at Peregrine Espresso, and still be home in your own space by evening, that’s the kind of DC experience most visitors never get to have. It’s particularly great if you’re staying more than just a weekend, since having that kitchen and extra space makes longer trips actually comfortable rather than just manageable.
Apartments in Washington suit policy nomads with cowork lofts, secure garages, and skyline balconies over Navy Yard.

Reviews of Large studio apartment steps from the US Capitol!
Joe from United States (10/10)
Very close to the Metro and convenient to a couple bars and restaurants I wanted to visit. Wifi and kitchen table were adequate for getting a lot of work done during the daytime. Good coffee and breakfast options nearby. (Check out the Roost for a great food hall with exceptional beer bar, or walk down to the Tune Inn for one of American's great dives.)

Great place with good placement for those who go out for a long time in D.C. Any information you might need is quickly given and it is very close to shops of all kind and US Capitol.
