The Westin Arlington Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Westin Arlington, you immediately get that polished corporate hotel vibe — but in the best possible way. The lobby feels spacious and modern, with those signature Westin touches that somehow make a four-star property feel more upscale than it technically is. I mean, there’s something about their whole aesthetic that just works, you know? The staff actually seems to care about what they’re doing, which honestly isn’t always a given at chain hotels these days.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about Arlington — it’s one of those spots that locals love but tourists sometimes overlook. This hotel sits right on Glebe Road, which puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close to DC but not dealing with all the downtown chaos. You’ve got the Metro nearby (Ballston station is walkable), and honestly, the whole area has this nice suburban-meets-urban thing going on. Couples seem to really get it — I can see why they rate the location so highly. There’s decent parking at the hotel too, which is actually a big deal around here.
The Room Experience
The room itself is where this place really shines. Those Westin beds? Yeah, they live up to the hype — I actually slept better here than I do at home, which is saying something. The rooms feel contemporary without being cold, and there’s enough space to spread out a bit. What I appreciated was the attention to details like blackout curtains that actually work and a bathroom that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The whole setup just feels thoughtfully designed for people who travel a lot and know what they want.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast situation is solid American fare — nothing too fancy, but they do it well. The hotel restaurant serves up reliable food that won’t blow your mind but definitely won’t disappoint either. I found myself using the fitness center more than I expected (it’s well-equipped), and the business facilities are actually useful if you need to get work done. There’s also a decent bar area where you can grab a drink without feeling like you’re in some generic hotel lobby.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both professional and comfortable at the same time. You get that reliable Westin quality — the kind of place where everything just works the way it’s supposed to. The location gives you easy access to both DC attractions and Arlington’s own dining scene, but you’re staying somewhere that feels more relaxed than the typical downtown hotel. It’s the sort of place that works whether you’re here for business, exploring the area with someone special, or just need a solid base for a few days. Nothing flashy, just really well done.

The rooms were clean 👌, the staff was excellent. One staff member, Carlos went above and beyond his duties. We had a hard time finding our car. He actually took us to find my car.
