Westin Georgetown, Washington D.C. Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Westin Georgetown, Washington D.C. feels like stepping into a well-kept secret that locals have been hoarding. This four-star property sits right on M Street in Georgetown, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. I mean, you’re literally in one of Washington‘s most charming neighborhoods — the kind of place where cobblestone streets meet upscale boutiques, and you can actually forget you’re in a major political hub for a few hours.
The Georgetown Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying here — Georgetown isn’t just another DC neighborhood, it’s basically its own little world. You can walk to the waterfront along the Potomac, grab coffee at Dean & DeLuca (which feels very Georgetown), or wander through those historic streets that actually predate the city itself. The hotel’s location score of 9.4 isn’t just marketing fluff; couples especially seem to get it, rating the spot 9.9 for romantic getaways. There’s something about being able to stroll hand-in-hand down those tree-lined streets that just works.
The Room Experience
The room itself hits that sweet spot between comfortable and polished without trying too hard. Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed is actually as good as they claim — I’m usually skeptical of hotel bed marketing, but this one delivers. The rooms feel spacious enough that you’re not bumping into furniture, and the windows give you glimpses of either the neighborhood or the river, depending on which side you’re on. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything stays, even though you’re right in the middle of one of DC’s busiest areas.
Dining and Daily Rhythms
Breakfast here covers all the bases — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and classic American options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The hotel restaurant does solid work, though honestly, being in Georgetown means you’ve got incredible dining options within a few blocks. Sometimes I’d grab something quick at the hotel, other times I’d venture out to one of those little bistros tucked into 18th-century townhouses. Having both options without needing a car or metro ride? That’s the real convenience factor.
Why Guests Love It
You know what sets this place apart? It’s that rare hotel where the location actually enhances your entire DC experience rather than just serving as a place to sleep. The 8.3 rating reflects what most guests figure out pretty quickly — this isn’t about flashy amenities or over-the-top service, it’s about being perfectly positioned in one of America’s most walkable, historically rich neighborhoods. Whether you’re here for business meetings downtown (easy metro access) or exploring the Smithsonian museums (also manageable), Georgetown gives you this completely different perspective on the city. Plus, there’s decent parking if you’re driving, which in this part of town is honestly a small miracle.

The staff was extremely helpful at ALL times. Never failed to greet us with a smile. The room and bathroom was spacious. A larger closet would be a bonus because we stayed for more than 5 days.

The staff ( and i would like to single out Divina and Erika) at the front desk were great. Very welcoming , making sure I was comfortable and helped in choosing the best room for my needs. The location is perfect between Georgetown , The Golden Triangle and the GWU campus. The room and bathroom was spacious , well furnished and extremely comfortable.

The location of this hotel is very nice, as is the style of the building and the facilities they offer. It is easy to walk around, Trader Joe's right around the corner, and nearby many nice restaurants, and where my work seminar was being held. The staff were very wonderful and super accommodating. The building felt safe and clean. It was overall a very pleasant experience.
