Comfort Inn Ballston Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Comfort Inn Ballston, you immediately get that feeling of “okay, this works.” It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just a solid three-star hotel that knows exactly what travelers need. The lobby has that fresh, clean vibe without being sterile, and honestly, the staff seemed genuinely happy to help rather than going through the motions. You know what struck me most? How quiet it was despite being right in the heart of Arlington. The overall atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between welcoming and professional.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about staying in Ballston — you’re basically getting the best of both worlds. The Metro station is literally a few minutes’ walk away, which means you can be in downtown D.C. in about 15 minutes without dealing with parking nightmares or traffic. But what I really appreciated was how walkable the immediate area is. There’s a decent mall right there, plenty of restaurants within a couple blocks, and that whole Ballston Common area has this nice urban energy without feeling overwhelming. The neighborhood truly offers something for everyone.
The Room Experience
I’ll be straight with you — the room isn’t going to win any design awards, but it’s exactly what you want after a long day of sightseeing. The bed was actually impressive (and I’m picky about mattresses), which explains why so many guests rave about the sleep quality here. Everything felt clean and well-maintained, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and there were enough outlets near the bed for all your devices. The bathroom was standard but spotless, with good water pressure — sometimes it’s the simple things that matter most. You’ll find the space thoughtfully organized for comfort.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast buffet surprised me in the best way possible. I mean, it’s not gourmet, but they had real scrambled eggs (not the powdered stuff), decent coffee, and fresh fruit that actually looked appetizing. The restaurant area gets busy around 7:30 AM with business travelers, so if you’re not an early riser, aim for 9 AM when things calm down. They keep everything stocked well, and the staff was constantly cleaning and refreshing items. The quality and variety consistently exceed expectations for this hotel category.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it handles the basics exceptionally well. Free parking on-site is huge when you’re dealing with the D.C. metro area — that alone probably saves you $20-30 a night compared to downtown hotels. The location rating speaks for itself, especially for couples who want easy access to both Arlington’s dining scene and D.C.’s attractions. It’s one of those hotels where everything just works smoothly, from check-in to check-out, without any unpleasant surprises. You’re not paying for fancy amenities you won’t use — just solid comfort and convenience in a spot that makes exploring the area actually enjoyable. This hotel delivers genuine value.

We stayed 2 days and really had a very good stay..this place delivers a great value when you take into account parking and breakfast. The room size was large, the bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. Breakfast was kept clean and stocked even when it was getting mobbed. The neighborhood is super safe and the walk to the nearby metro stop is not bad…10-12 min. Although we worked out that it was quicker and the same price to park in an underground lot in DC (near Ford's Theater) for the same price as 2x tickets to and fro. So we did that on Saturday since that was the day we checked out as well. Highly recommend this hotel and we are picky. We don't like to overpay but we need something comfortable.
