Omni Shoreham Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Omni Shoreham Hotel feels like stepping into a piece of Washington history — and honestly, that’s exactly what you’re doing. This four-star property has been hosting guests since 1930, and you can feel that legacy in the grand lobby with its soaring ceilings and classic architecture. I mean, this place has seen presidents, diplomats, and countless travelers over the decades, but it doesn’t feel stuffy or overly formal. There’s something genuinely welcoming about the atmosphere that puts you at ease right away.
The Perfect DC Location
You know what really sets this hotel apart? The location is absolutely unbeatable — couples consistently rate it 9.2 out of 10, and I totally get why. You’re perched right on the edge of Rock Creek Park, which means you can literally walk out the back door and find yourself on wooded trails that feel miles away from the city. But here’s the thing — you’re actually just minutes from Dupont Circle and the Metro, so getting downtown to the monuments and museums is incredibly easy. The Woodley Park Metro station is practically next door, and honestly, that makes all the difference when you’re trying to see everything DC has to offer.
Comfortable Rooms That Actually Deliver
I’ll be straight with you — the room exceeded my expectations, especially when it comes to sleep quality. They weren’t kidding about those beds being highly rated; I actually slept better here than I do at home sometimes. The rooms have that classic hotel feel but with modern touches that work well together. The windows are large enough to give you decent views (some overlook the park, which is lovely), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathrooms are well-appointed too, though nothing too fancy — just solid, comfortable accommodations that feel worth the price.
Dining and Practical Perks
The breakfast situation here is pretty practical — they offer American-style options and even have breakfast to go if you’re rushing off to catch that early morning museum opening. The main restaurant on-site serves decent food, though honestly, with Woodley Park and Adams Morgan so close by, you’ve got some fantastic dining options within walking distance. One thing I really appreciated was the parking — having private parking at a DC hotel is actually a big deal, especially in this part of town where street parking can be a nightmare.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is how it balances that historic Washington charm with genuine convenience. You’re staying somewhere with real character and stories to tell, but you’re not sacrificing modern comfort or accessibility. The staff clearly takes pride in maintaining the property’s reputation — service is attentive without being overbearing. Plus, that 8.2 guest rating reflects what I experienced: a solid, reliable hotel that delivers on its promises. Whether you’re here for business meetings downtown or planning to explore the Smithsonian museums, this location gives you the best of both worlds — urban convenience and that peaceful park setting when you need to recharge.

Staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. Debra, the service lady assigned to our room was very kind and adapted to our kids lazy holiday pattern and made sure their room was clean.
Also breakfast was outstanding and the setting was stunningAria from United States (8/10)
Spacious, clean rooms. Great location. Incredibly helpful staff.
Robert from United States (8/10)
the room was very nice and was able to spread out a little bit. The downstairs area (lobby, conference rooms, etc) were immaculate. I don't like to valet my car, however they made it a very easy process and didn't limit how many times I could use my car when my co-worker and I would go out (although we would typically go out once a day). It was a little away from town, but not that far.
