Washington Marriott at Metro Center Overview

First Impressions

Walking into the Washington Marriott at Metro Center, you immediately get that classic business hotel vibe — but in the best possible way. The lobby feels substantial without being stuffy, and honestly, the location hits you right away. You’re literally in the heart of Washington, surrounded by the energy of downtown, and it’s one of those spots where you can feel the city’s pulse just by stepping outside. The check-in process is efficient and welcoming, setting a positive tone for your stay.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about this four-star hotel — the location score of 9.3 isn’t just marketing fluff. You’re steps away from the Metro Center station, which means you can hop on the Red, Blue, or Orange lines without breaking a sweat. The White House is basically a pleasant walk away, and you know what? So are the Smithsonian museums. I mean, couples rate this spot 9.5 out of 10, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble — you’re actually in the city where locals work and eat. The neighborhood truly offers something for everyone.

The Room Experience

The room situation here is solid, and I’m not just saying that. They’ve got a reputation for really comfortable beds, and honestly, after a long day of walking around DC’s monuments, that matters more than you might think. The rooms feel updated without trying too hard — clean lines, decent space for a downtown hotel, and windows that actually give you something worth looking at. The setup works whether you’re here for business or just trying to see the sights without completely exhausting yourself. Modern amenities blend seamlessly with practical design.

Breakfast and Dining

The breakfast options surprised me a bit — they’ve clearly thought about different dietary needs. You’ve got your standard continental spread, but they also do vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The American breakfast classics are there too, and if you’re rushing to catch a morning museum opening, the breakfast-to-go option actually comes in handy. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s thoughtful in a way that makes your morning easier. The dining experience reflects genuine attention to guest preferences.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the flashiest hotel in DC, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that matters. The location puts you in the thick of things without the chaos, the beds actually deliver on comfort, and you’re not paying premium prices for a bunch of amenities you won’t use. Business travelers appreciate the efficiency, couples love being able to walk to dinner and shows, and honestly, anyone who wants to experience Washington without feeling like they’re camping out in the suburbs will find this works. It’s that sweet spot where the hotel enhances your trip instead of just providing a place to crash. The overall value proposition is compelling for diverse traveler types.

Reviews of Washington Marriott at Metro Center

  • Roger from United States (9/10)

The room itself was great. It was located right next to the Metro Center stop of the Metro which mad commuting real easy. The staff went out of their way to help. Even had umbrellas for use during an unexpected rain event. Really friendly to one and all that I observed.

Everything is modern and good looking. I liked the location right next a parking lot. No carpet but hard floor.

The location was great, although we had to pay for breakfast. I thought breakfast was included in the hotel deal. I really liked how the bathroom was, it was very clean! I like how they left us coffee so we could brew some the next day. The hotel staff were very friendly because I had lost my graduation ring at the pool and went down to the receptionist asking if they had found it and luckily they did! I was super excited! And thankful for the faculties!

  • Sooyeon from Italy (9/10)

Everything was great. I only wish that the receptionist upon our arrival was giving more information on the 25$ voucher we can use on a daily basis compensating the destination fee of 25$ per night plus tax. The girl told me the voucher was available on a daily basis but in fact it was equivalent to the number of nights we stayed . So we lost one day worth of voucher. Aside this, it was perfect and yes, it’s a bit more expensive than other places in the vicinity but worth it with the indoor pool especially for kids!

  • Tracy from United States (9/10)

While the hotel is nice on its own, the staff here are really what made my stay an exceptional one. I would happily stay here again if I'm back in the area!

  • Carrie from United States (7/10)

Very clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Good restaurant.

  • Stacy from United States (8/10)

Great location for downtown DC. Room was really nice and a good size for the city. Bathroom was clean and updated. Even though we didn’t use it, nice to have a Starbucks in the lobby.

  • William from United States (8/10)

Great location at the Metro Center station. Good restaurants nearby, especially Tatte Bakery & Cafe which has great food at reasonable prices. The staff were all very helpful, polite, and accessible.
